Black Tip Reef Shark
Carcharhinus melanopterus
The black tip reef shark is not an aggresive shark. It guards its terriories in the reef where this great shark can be found. This fish will eat any fish smaller than it is, and can also be weaned onto frozen foods. These fish can usually be found in the Indo-Pacific ocean as well as off the coast of Australia. They have distinctive black markings on their first dorsal fin and on their lower caudel fin lobes. These fish are quick, but not considered dangerous because of their small size. We recommend having an aquarium of at least 1000 gallons for this shark. These are often available from the supplier. Pre ordering is required, as well as a 50% down payment. Shipping and handling depends on airport destination. Current size of sharks in stock is 16 - 18 inches long.
